  The results are undeniably amazing, but I can't give this 5 stars for a couple of reasons.

  1) It doesn't actually affect the rendering part of the process; the magic is achieved in compositing. The video claiming that the GTX1070 beat RTX4090 is just not true. Detail retention via compositing is not the same as a head-to-head competition in rendering speed, and when it comes to animation, the 4090 will still win.

  2) Compositing is unfortunately still restricted to CPU processing, and with the amount of work being done behind the scenes by this add-on to create such spectacular results, it can be incredibly taxing on your hardware.

  Even after buying a Noctua cooler just to use the add-on more safely, it can still cause temps to rise above 70C, at least during initialization, which could become a very big and expensive problem if you don't already have one of the best coolers available.

  Once GPU compositing becomes more widely available, I will be glad to change my review to to reflect the extended capability of this add-on.

  Hi, thanks for the review. You're quite right, the addon doesn't give the 1070 gpu the same performance as a 4090, but it does allow it to produce similar quality results in the same amount of render time. This is achievable due the automatic render settings that are designed specifically for Turbo Render's advanced denoising system. Basically it renders faster because it's able to use far fewer samples thanks to the advanced denoising system.

  Regarding the CPU temperatures, I wouldn't worry too much about brief spurts of 70 degrees. A constant 70 to 80 degrees is typical for any intensive workload or high end video games. In the case of Turbo Render, it's far less demanding than that because it only happens briefly at the end of every rendered frame. Good news though, the Blender developers are currently implementing GPU support in the compositor, so once that's available, I'll implement immediately 👍

  I regret I didn"t hear about this Turbo tool earlier and I hardly can imagine living without it now.

  I'm 100% decided that my satisfaction level with this addon is about 200% above my initial anticipation. For anyone in doubt (like me initially) this is not hype, it's real! I was previously almost exclusively using EEVEE since I'm still chugging along with a GTX 1080ti card. This addon changes that. It's totally worth every penny and one of the most valuable addons I ever purchased.

  This tool is absolutely insane and a must have IMHO. I'm currently rendering at 8k @ 512 samples which looks much better than 1500 samples on vanilla and the render time has been reduced 7 times.

  I only wish I had bought Turbo Tools sooner.

  Ok, first off, this is not a custom build, it's an add-on and that alone should make you realize how convenient this solution is over custom-builds.

  What Michael did here is extremely efficient.
  Depending on your needs, gain on render time can get pretty insane. In some cases, renders for me can be six times faster, but it could be more as I haven't fully explored all the options yet. This is something that in the past I haven't seen with custom-builds which were specifically aimed at improving Blender render speed.

  I feel this is the first time that the claim it will save you the money of an extra GPU is definitely true.

  I thought it would end there, but there's more.
  Another sweet advantage of using Turbo Tools is that your textures will look more detailed. So, not only it will render faster, but it will also look better.

  I only explored the improvement about the speed, so, apologize for excluding all the caching/compositing part.

  On a side note, I bought the add-on when I was using my old PC with a dual 1080ti system. I thought with the new PC and a dual 3080ti, I wouldn't use it as much. I was wrong. Renders now are insanely fast! :)

  I was looking for some ways to speed up my projects and after some googling, I found this addon but after watching a review on youtube, I was afraid that this addon might not be the right one, especially for fine hairs, since I wasn't willing to reduce rendering time at the cost of quality.
  After contacting the developper about this problem, it looked like in the youtube video, it was more of an issue with balancing between sufficient amount of samples for the details vs rendering speed.

  So I decided to try the addon with regular sample presets and I am quite happy with the results as I can get better details in most areas like fabrics, small details like wear and tears, some objects border are more well defined etc.. while using much less samples than regular cycle, resulting in faster rendering speed, it is especially noticeable in big projects.

  For hairs however the result with base preset weren't as good but setting samples to user setting and setting them high enough (at the same amount as I would with regular cycle or slightly lower)for the hair details to be rendered properly the result ended similar to standard cycle for hair while still having better details in most other place like mentioned before.
  (maybe some preset could be added for those types of details)

  So overall I' m very happy with this purchase as it will save me a huge amount of time without lowering the quality of my projects.

  this addon is amazing, i was afraid i was gonna make a deadline because how high my sample count was plus still had lots of noise. this sounded too good to be true but its works amazing
