Flares

by Palm Pixel in Addons

Getting Started

Installation:

Installing the addon follows the same process as installing any other addon.

First Run:

Once the add-on has been installed, locate the add-on panel within the Compositor.

First, establish a light source by scrolling down to the light sources section and selecting the "Create" button.

This will create a new light source. You can have multiple light sources which render simultaneously.

To configure its settings, select the light source, which will provide you with additional options to adjust.

To define the light's position, choose the object from which it will emanate, such as an empty object. This selection will result in the rendering of light at the chosen object's position.

Next, utilize the color wheel to select the light's color. Additionally, you have the option to adjust the intensity as per your preference. After configuring the desired settings, ensure that your light source is within the camera's field of view. Naturally, it won't be visible if it is positioned outside of this field. Then, you can choose your lens system and adjust its settings. This includes the option to customize the aperture. Once you believe you have selected your settings appropriately, you can press the render button.

This action will render an image and place it in the image editor section labeled "LensFlares | Render Result."

Afterward, you can composite the rendered flare onto your main render by using the rendered image in the compositor.
