A simple tool but does exactly what you need. Always a fan of addon which automate something which is normally very tedious.

This is working great! I'm working on a race car rollcage model that has a ton of welds. This really helps me get those done quicker. The only issues I'm having is I have to go to the plugin settings and type the menu name manually to show up in the sidebar. But that could be because I'm using Blender 3.1. It's a little annoying having to change the material after each weld, but that's minor compared to the time saving I'm achieving. This is now one of my favorite addons for sure.

    This is just terrible!

    1. Optimalization sucks, like really, I never saw anything that terrible.
    - Every weld ussing different material and texture, like really?
    - Texture should be RGB, not RGBA for first variant of weld.
    - Only draw or deppend on intersect, this sucks.
    - Stupid interface, when you spawn cable, you can't get any informations about it.
    - Also works just terrible on small objects

This is a very handy addon for CAD designers that want to use their models in blender and add some realism. I have found some glitches and odd behaviors, (mostly on mac now on PC) and still think the author and addon are great to work with.

One feature request that would be great to have is automatic end caps to close the weld ends. I have been manually shrinking the ends down and then filling the hole so the weld bead doesn't have open ends any more.
Another option would be to have curved directional starting/ending points so the weld just sunk into the part which would also eliminate the open end look.

I have a part with a lot of different placed welds and it is taking a long time to do this by hand, please consider adding something like this. Thank you!

Okay, THIS is a great addon! Since I'm working with a lot of CAD models from different car manufacturers, they never have welding seams in their datasets. Your addon fills this gap perfectly! I was so happy to see that someone had the idea to mak a welding addon :D
Easy to use, a real timesaver, and the seams look awesome! Well done, thank you!
