About
The Pro Atmo add-on serves the ability to create realistic sky, space or scifi scenes. Because the parameters are calculated in the world texture, you can get very fast render-times. The world texture is calculated procedurally, this way you can have control over nearly everything
Fast, realistic and customizable
Realistic cloud generation
Using HdrI's
Using HDRIs for the background and lighting can be a great way to create realistic scenes in Blender. But there are many drawbacks of this method:
- Searching for an image which fit's into your scene
- Potentially paying everytime you want a new background
- Little creative freedom
- Static (unable to animate the sun, clouds or anything)
- Time consuming to setup and adjust
Using Pro Atmo :)
- Wide variety of ready to use presets
- Handy controlls for every possible parameter
- Nearly no limitation for you creative freedom
- Supports Eevee and Cycles (recommend strong system for Eevee)
- Procedural texture with infinite resolution
Great for ArchViz
Or landscape environments

The concept behind Pro Atmo
Using a static hdri for background lighting is the most common method, when it comes to environment creation. We thought it would be a great idea, to create a procedural generated world-texture. This way you have control over all different features. The addon implements a very nice workflow, because nothing has be bakes or anything. All settings can be changed in real-time at any point.
Procedural sky generation in Blender
The nashita sky-texture is available since Blender 2.9. Working with this texture comes really handy, because changes can be made in real-time. However there are some features missing like:
- Clouds generation
- Stars and nebulae
- Earth curvature at higher altitude (The earth is not a disk)
- Creating planets etc.
So we decided to create our own "sky-texture" with all features included. We started with the atmosphere, which is basically a gradient-texture, then we added clouds, which is made by a complex noise-texture. This way we added more and more features, until it was finally a seamless and realistic atmospheric / space / clouds simulator.
